The war was started by fire lord Sozin, who wanted to make the fire nation
larger and from his view he wanted to share the fire nations prosperity with the rest of the world. The war began 100 years
ago, Sozin knew a comet was coming and it would give the firebender amazing strength, so he set up an attack to wipe out all
air nomads. By doing this he hoped he could prevent a new avatar from being born in the cycle and he could continue his war.
Unfortunatly for him, the avatar, Aang had run away and got frozen in an iceberg.
After the first stage of attacks Sozin then decided to launch an assault of
the Westen Earth Kingdom. Sozin conqured the earth kingdom and was in the future used as the fire nation colonies.
Sozin then expanded his troops to attack the north, including the northern water tribe, this attack failed because
of the rough terrain there.
After the death of Sozin, his son Azulon took his place already fourty years
into the war. He wanted to expant the attacks to the southern water tribe and east in Ba Sing Sei. His troops attacked the
then prosperous Southern Water Tribe, all of the waterbender were defeated and captured, this includes Hama. The Earth Kingdom
was under many attacks including the 600 day siege of Ba Sing Sei, led by general Iroh, this ended when his son Lu Ten was
killed. This is known as a great defeat of Iroh.
Then while under Ozai, Zhoa attemted with hundereds more ships full of firebenders
to capture the avatar and seige the northern water tribe. However Aang defeated the entire fire nation fleet, leaving the
Northern Water Tribe still untouched by the fire nation. Soon after this they won a great victory, taking control of the city
of Omashu and capturing King Bumi. Most of the city people left due to plague and the city was renamed New Ozai by Azula.
The war continued to get worse, when Ba Sing Sei fell. Azula, Ty Lee and Mai
infultrated Ba Sing Sei disquised as the Kyoshi warriors, then Azula took over the Dai Lee earthbenders which eventually
helped her take control of the city and claim it for the fire nation. On the Day of Black Sun, many associates whom have met
Aang attempted to attack the fire nation, while they were powerless during an solar eclipse, so that Aang could fight the
fire lord. They managed to infultrate the capital. Unfortunatly the fire lord was hidden, and Aang ran out of time so they
suffered a defeat which caused many of the warriors to be captured. However Aang, Katara, Sokka and other escaped. Zuko, Ozai's
son and long time enemy of the avatar defyed his father and then set out to convince Aang he was good, so that he could teach
Aang firebending so that the war could end.
