Katara is a waterbender from the southern water tribe were she is one
of the only waterbenders left. Her mother was killed in a fire nation raid
and her father left along with other to help in the battle against the fire nation.While in the southern water tribe she was
cared for by her gran-gran. Katara is very skilled at her waterbending and is also gifted with healing people with her waterbending.
Katara also displayed her ablilty to be able to bloodbend ( episodes "the puppetmaster") or controlling a person, which she
never wanted to do but she was forced to for the safety of Aang and Sokka.
Katara learned from master Pakku in the northern water tribe, she advanced
faster than Aang and when Paku left to aid the southern water tribe after their battle with the fire nation in the northern
water tribe, Katara became Aangs teacher. Katara is the younger sister of Sokka and is fourteen.
Katara is very caring and often feels sad when she sees someone less
fortunate and underprivledged. Katara wears a neclace which belonged to her mother, this is one of the last things
she has that belonged to her mother. Katara was the reason Aang was unfrozen from the iceberg she was angry at Sokka
and caused the iceberg to crack, revealing Aang.
